1. Read Chapter 7, “Gandhi Arrives in South Africa”.
2. Reflect together: What does dignity mean? What did Gandhi do when someone tried to treat him unfairly? Is there a situation in your life where you have challenged something unfair with nonviolence? If so, describe the situation and what happened.

Post the word "Dignity" in three places in your home where you feel dignity most resides—or maybe even where more dignity is needed. Why did you choose these places?
