Applications

In principle, there is really no field or type of interaction in which nonviolence cannot be engaged since it is, after all, primarily a state of mind. It has been deliberately, and sometimes systematically used, by people from every walk of life (including occasional “rulers”), and in an almost endless variety of situations—freedom struggles, reform movements, transitions to democracy, struggles for human rights, armed conflict, as well as interpersonal affairs.
